The Wisdom Tooth

Many years ago, Fran was having great deal of pain from a tooth. She went to the dentist and he told her that she had an impacted wisdom tooth and that she would need to have it surgically removed.

No one enjoys hearing that kind of news, Fran especially. Nevertheless, she set an appointment to come back and have the surgery.

The day of the surgery came. She was in great pain from the tooth, but she had an even worse feeling about going in for the surgery. It just didn’t feel like the right thing to do.

She prayed earnestly to know what to do and felt impressed to ask her husband to give her a priesthood blessing.  Fran said,

My husband gave me a blessing, and immediately afterwards the pain went away–and here it is 30 some years later, and the pain has never returned. I know without any doubt that the Lord heard my prayers and honored the blessing that I [received]. I have not had a problem with this impacted wisdom tooth that is still there [after] all these years.

What is true wisdom in our day and time? To be a man or woman of prayer. He hears us!
