Wow! That Was Powerful
The year was 2019. Linda set a goal to go to the temple more often, which is saying something, because at that time, for her, in Kalispell Montana, the Temple was about three hours away in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.
In accordance with that goal, she went through her family tree searching for names that needed ordinance work done. One woman’s name stood out to her, but when she looked closer, she saw that the name had been reserved by her high-school-aged niece. The expiration date was coming, so Linda decided to wait.
Then covid came and shut everything down—most especially, access to the Temple. Once covid restrictions were over, the Canadian border was still closed and even after it finally opened, it was still difficult. Linda had to prove that she had had two covid shots, present her passport, and “fill out some forms on a website that Canada was using to canvas for Covid issues.” In addition, Linda said, “We had to put an address that we would be able to shelter in place for 10 days if we came down with Covid while we were there.”
If Covid did one thing well, it shut down the sacred work for the living and the dead.
Now, “fast forward to 2023, [and Linda] was finally able to take this woman’s name to the temple.”
Because of the distance, each time they went to the temple they would make a day of it—doing five initiatories, an endowment session and numerous sealings. When they entered the sealing room, she was carrying a stack of names and this woman, that she had waited so long to get, was the last in the stack.
Linda described what happened:
“The sealer breezed through it all pretty fast. When he picked up the last card and started the sealing, he stopped halfway through. I looked over at him and wondered what he stopped for. Then I noticed that he was getting really emotional and was fighting the tears. He kept going and finished it. He stood up and said ‘Wow, that was powerful’.”
Linda concludes with this:
“I have heard of people saying that they have felt the people’s spirits there, but I’ve never felt that—not even with this lady. I’ve never felt that I needed to because I’m sure they are close. I don’t know how long she had been waiting before 2019, but I understood her excitement to finally have her work done and to be sealed to her husband.”
If you would feel heaven in your life today—prepare yourself and go to the Temple.
