This is a 22-Point Diamond

My friend Barbara shared with me the most amazing story about the kindness and compassion of a loving Heavenly Father.

Barbara and Bob celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary August 29, 1997. On that occasion Bob gave her a beautiful ring with a large diamond in the center, and she gave him a motorcycle.

Later, in 2005 they went to the Washington DC temple. When they finished, they returned to their car. It was then that Barbara noticed that the center diamond in her ring was missing. They went back inside the temple and placed a request that if anyone found the stone, please call. The call never came. Barbara was devastated.

In March 2007, Bob was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and by January 2008, he was gone.

In the following years, Barbara kept Bob’s car and kept it as immaculate as he had, having it detailed many times. Then in August 2012, she went out into the garage and opened the passenger door of Bob’s car. She happened to glance down at the floor mat and saw something shiny. Thinking it might be a piece of cheap glass from some bling she might have worn, she picked it up. She almost threw it in the trash, but instead, dropped it in the cup holder.

That next week she drove Bob’s car to Tennessee to visit her mother. On the way, she stopped by a jeweler who was sizing a ring for her. Barbara said:

“As I got out of the car, I thought of the shiny glass I’d found in the car and picked it up. After the jeweler and I talked, I said, ‘Look what I found in the car’.

“She put on her special glasses and said, ‘Where did you say you got this?’ I repeated myself and she said, ‘Barbara, this is a 22-point diamond!’”

It was the lost diamond from her ring. It had been seven years. After all those detailings, that ring should never have been there. Moreover, when did she find it? August: the month of her 40th anniversary. Barbara said:

“That same jeweler put my lost diamond back in my ring and I’m wearing it as I’m writing this…. Finding the diamond was a miracle meant just for me by a loving Father in Heaven who helped mend my broken heart.  My ring is my most cherished possession.  When I’m in the temple, I find myself putting my finger on the diamond and thanking Father for such an amazing miracle.”

Do you want a miracle? Do you desire that worthy sign that will strengthen your faith and comfort you in times of trial? If you do—then pray!
