He Calmed The Winds

Tamara was asked to serve as a cub scout leader. In the course of fulfilling that obligation, she wanted to conduct a bicycle riding rules training, where the boys would be taught how to ride safely. She scheduled it with the local police department, and they agreed to come.

On the day of the event the wind was blowing—hard! The policewoman who was planning to come called Tamara and said, “I think we are going to have to cancel the event because of the wind. I have cones to set up,” she said, “and they will just get blown over by the wind I’m afraid.”

This was Tamara’s response: “Well, could you still come anyway? I have prayed to God and asked him to stop the wind while we have our training.”

The police officer said, “Okay I’ll come, but if it’s too windy, I won’t be able to proceed with our plan.”

The officer came. The wind died down. The boys came and the training was completed. At the end, Tamara and the officer were picking up the cones. Before they finished, the wind came up again and began to blow—very hard!

“The policewoman, commented that she couldn’t believe what had just happened and what she had witnessed.” For her part, Tamara was grateful and thanked God for answering her prayers.

The Lord calmed the winds once over Galilee. He can do it again wherever you be. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
